Hey everyone, it is been a while. You have got a fairly large-sized post coming up, so I hope everyone is eager to read! First of all, I would like to apologize for my last two posts: some of you might have noticed they were relatively short, bland and, somewhat random, and I will admit I put them together without much effort. In fact, I should probably blog new events sooner to make my posts more cohesive with one another.
Now back to FFXI matters, I still do things on BST every now and then. In fact, I saw Unut up the other day and decided to attack him, but it was I who died in the ensuing fight. After rushing back from my Home Point, a second battle also resulted in my death, and at this point, a BST duo claimed the NM and easily finished Unut off. As such, I have vowed revenge on this NM because my BST pride is now wounded from losing twice to a Rabbit.
However, just because I have been soloing poorly with local pets does not mean it is the same story with jug pets. After noticing Oni Carcass was up on "Widescan," I decided to attack it alongside Liabelle and my Funguar Familiars. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this NM, Oni Carcass has 25k HP, and although his Defense is pretty low, he still hits Fungy and me for 100s. It was a close call when my second Funguar was on the verge of death, but I managed to turn the tables on the NM and even got the Great Katana to drop! This places me at 1/2 for the main drop.
Other Stuff
I managed to acquire the ring above on the same day I botched a chemistry lab, so thanks for the wonderful birthday present, SE.
I also managed to get Alchemy mule her Caduceus, but unfortunately, SE nerfed Remedies in the latest patch, severely limiting what I can now synthesize for profit. Nonetheless, I still have one decent recipe left, and it requires a Caduceus to have the maximum HQ rate.
New Campaign Medals. I might sacrifice the last medal to avoid having to Campaign constantly.
I also did a lot of Assault missions for my next two Mercenary promotions, so if there is one thing I love about Asura, it is the constant barrage of Assault shouts. Currently, I have finished 38 of the 50 missions required for the Captain rank, and the first seven Mercenary ranks are now fully cleared.

This key item is for Alchemy mule. I might start selling Poison Potions and Holy Waters if I feel too busy with schoolwork.
At last, Exemplar's final Fishing GP item! I am almost ready to begin my Ebisu Fishing Rod quest now.
Above, I got Liabelle her fourth armor lock, and she has finally reached level 70. Lia will be getting her Noble's Mitts and Pumps just as soon as I figure out how the Fellow armor system works.
After realizing that I had, accidentally, bought a spare ISNM pass over a year ago, I decided to join a random IS75 shout party. Personally, I think someone jinxed my drops after predicting that a Khroma Ore would drop on my run, so I think I should stop doing BC/KS/IS NMs with my current luck.
On the bright side, I had another Pirate's Chart sitting in my Mog Safe, and it really made my birthday when I won the fight and landed a Mercurial Kris. SE can truly make touching moments, and although I was tempted to sell the Dagger, I think I will be keeping it for my DRK instead -- there are certain quests and monsters I would like to solo with it.
Guttler Updates
With the major Fishing rings and Serpent Rumors in hand, my attention has now shifted towards earning my own Ebisu Fishing Rod. Unfortunately, there is still one final prerequisite before I can start the quest: the ability to repair my own Lu Shang's Fishing Rod (and that requires level 80 Woodworking). So, I have literally dumped all my gil (~600k) into Woodworking this weekend, bringing it from level 16 to 69 in just two days!
Once I have my Ebisu, I will be collecting gil again; whether it will go towards more Dynamis currency or crafting HQ cursed pieces is still a big question given the current market on the former. Frankly, there is not a lot of currency being sold, and I have not found a Dynamis LS that will let me sponsor runs either.
Currently, I am working on Stage 2 -> 3 of my Guttler.
